AUGUST 12 2017 UPDATE:
If you register and pay for your registration/banquet fees here, there is no longer any group rate at the hotel. You will have to coordinate with the hotel directly or find alternate lodging arrangements….but isn’t this Las Vegas? It’s not like they don’t have an abundance of hotels.
REMINDER: Reunion registration period ENDS 21 August 2017; don’t wait!
The 2017 14th Combat Engineer Association Reunion is in Las Vegas, Tuesday Sept 12th through Thursday Sept 14th. It was moved from the traditional reunion days of Thursday through Saturday in order to get a discount on room rates. We negotiated the room rate plus resort fee and tax to be $57.10 per night for the deluxe room and $64.95 for premium rooms. The local county tax rate increased by less than 1%
The Gold Coast Hotel is a clean and a family friendly hotel. It is not the Bellagio or The Mirage but we are not paying the $200 a night room rate or the $100 banquet fee. With the Gold Coast Hotel shuttle you can visit these upscale hotels and see their free outdoor shows. Bellagio has dancing fountains and the Mirage has an outdoor fire show. These are just a few examples of what you can enjoy on the strip for no cost. Las Vegas has many shows that you can buy tickets ahead of time for or purchase the same day. You can access the website : http://www.lasvegas.com/shows-and-events/ for a particular show.
The Gold Coast Hotel has some reasonable places to dine. They include:
- Ports O Call Buffet (Breakfast $8.99, Lunch $10.99)
- Ping Pang Pong – Voted Best Asian restaurant in Las Vegas
- Subway – open 24 hrs.
- TGI Fridays
- Noodle Exchange
- Cornerstone Steakhouse – prices are higher here but not as high as other fine dining restaurants
Stay tuned…it’s gonna be RUGGED!
